You might live an active lifestyle or are a health-conscious individual, but still can’t seem to get a grasp on your health. Your biomarkers, aka characteristics in your blood, are a sign of normal/abnormal processes. Understanding the breakdown of these biomarkers can be complicated. That’s where at-home diagnostics come into play.

At-home diagnostics allow you to understand your biomarkers in a digestible way. They provide you with actionable insights that allow you to adjust your lifestyle for better health. Using a blood sample, you can get real-time results with plans to proactively monitor your health. I compared the top 3 tests on the market —  SiPhox Health, Function Health, and InsideTracker — on convenience, affordability, and integration. Which one is the best?

Convenience

SiPhox has a convenient, streamlined process.

With just a few questions, you can communicate your healthcare goals to SiPhox Health. They will provide you with a personalized, healthcare program. You’ll receive an at-home blood test, assessing various biomarkers, such as cardiovascular and nutritional health.

The at-home blood marker test is incredibly easy to use. All it takes is an EasyDraw shoulder collector or finger-prick. There is minor discomfort, but it eliminates the stress of lab visits. Experts will review your results and write personalized insights and recommendations. You’ll then receive a custom action plan. Frequency ranges from every month to every six months.

InsideTracker requires you to schedule a blood draw visit.

InsideTracker takes a unique approach to analyzing your health. There are three plans depending on how comprehensive you want your results: ranging from four categories to ten. You can schedule a blood test at a local Quest Diagnostics or you can purchase a mobile test to have a professional draw your blood from home. This can be expensive and inconvenient for busy individuals.

There are many steps to complete before accessing your results. You have to set up your InsideTracker account and link your upcoming blood results. While you wait for your blood results (typically 5-10 days), complete the Health Profile on your InsideTracker account to get personalized recommendations. Through the app, you’ll receive your results and action plan. It’s recommended to re-test every three to six months.

Function Health requires a lab test depending on your needs.

Function Health offers one membership that comes with 100 lab tests and two lab visits a year. The downside is you have to schedule with local Quest Diagnostics — you can’t do it at home ike SiPhox. In two to three weeks, a clinician will review your lab results and deliver notes to your Function dashboard. This will come with personalized lists of foods to consume and avoid, along with specific adjustments to make in your daily life.

Affordability

SiPhox Health is the lower cost-per-biomarker.

Prices depend on the frequency of tests. If you test monthly, you can pay as low as $99 per kit. Every three months is $113 per kit. A one-time purchase is $145 per kit. Every six months is $127 per kit. The pay-as-you-go option is $165 and renews every six months. Since some programs can test up to 50 biomarkers, you could be paying as low as $1.98 per biomarker.

InsideTracker is premium pricing focused on niche users.

InsideTracker offers nine membership bundles. The least expensive option is the membership where you use past blood results; this goes for $149. The most expensive option – 4 x Ultimate – Membership Exclusive bundle – goes for $1,088. This comes with four blood draws that are analyzed across 10 of your healthspan categories. The 10 categories include: Heart Health, Inflammation, Endurance, Hormone Balance, Metabolism, Recovery, Sleep, Cognition, and Fitness. This equates to around 50 biomarkers that will be analyzed. Each plan gives you the option to purchase add-ons, such as a DNA kit or a biological age test.

Function Health is a higher price for not-as-comprehensive action plans.

The Function Health annual membership comes with the ability to test over 100+ biomarkers and two lab visits a year. This is at a high price of $499. Though you are able to test for a variety of health categories, the action plans are not comprehensive and this is a newer program with limited functionality.

Wearable Integration

SiPhox Health has real-time integration with wearables.

A convenient feature that optimizes daily lifestyle monitoring is the integration with smart devices, such as an Apple Watch or Whoop. Siphox is compatible with 300+ devices. This takes your biomarker insights and combines them with wearable data for personalized coaching and daily monitoring.

Some of their programs come with devices to track your levels. The Heart and Metabolic program comes with a blood pressure monitor to identify and prevent any health issues. You can upgrade the Core Health program (metabolic, cardiovascular, and hormonal wellness) to have a continuous glucose monitor. SiPhox’s technology allows you to go about your day stress-free while staying on top of your health.

InsideTracker integrates with fitness trackers to monitor your health.

The InsideTracker app is compatible with wearable fitness trackers. However, it has limited integrations. InsideTracker is only compatible with Apple Health, Oura Ring, Fitbit, and Garmin.

Function Health offers no wearable device integration.

Bottom Line

As you age, there might be hidden issues, such as hormone imbalances or high cholesterol, that only your biomarkers can reveal. Understanding your blood results can be complicated, but with the biomarker test, you can get a grasp of your health easily. Though InsideTracker and Function Health are comprehensive in tracking biomarkers, they lack the convenience that SiPhox Health provides.

SiPhox Health allows you to test your blood in the comfort of your own home. It provides personalized coaching and recommendations that are easy to implement. At an affordable price, SiPhox Health stands out as the best choice. Get $150 off your first test or program today.
